Striking and bold, this necklace is sure to gain compliments to anyone that wears it! Featuring beads that were both abstract and representative in form, beaded gold necklaces were worn during festivities by members of the Asante Royal families of Ghana. Often identified with the Asante peoples, these geometric forms could also be used as weights to measure gold dust during trades.
This beautiful necklace features pewter beads with an antique gold finish and ceramic black and white beads. Based on jewelry found in the collections of the Penn Museum.
Necklace measures 18" long with a toggle clasp.
