French artist Robert Delaunay (1885-1941) was a contemporary of Wassily Kandinsky, Diego Rivera and Paul Klee. He created his own art movement, Orphism, based on bright geometric designs. Our colorful pure silk necktie is inspired by Delaunay's Hommage a Blériot, a painting which honored the pioneering French aviator Louis Blériot, the first to fly over the English Channel.
