Egyptian Revival Pendant Necklace

Adaptation of ancient jewelry became very popular in Europe during the mid 19^th century. The Castellani workshop in Naples, Italy, where Henry Walters visited in 1909, was famous for this style of jewelry. This necklace was inspired by a necklace in the Walters collection,  which came from that very same Castellani workshop . It features a pendant set with genuine lapis lazuli* cabochons in 22k gold-plated pewter measuring 1 x ½ inches on a gold-plated 18 inch chain with a sturdy lobster-claw clasp.
