Inspired by the museum’s jewelry collection, instructors from the Baltimore Jewelry Center guide participants in the creation of a cameo brooch. Participants use their own cell phone photos and electrolytic etching to transfer a photographic image onto a metal plate and learn a few simple techniques to finish their brooches. Held in conjunction with the exhibition “In Profile: Modern Cameos” at the Baltimore Jewelry Center. Shown: Venetian, Brooch with Cameo of Spring after a relief by William Henry Rinehart, ca. 1862. Acquired by William T. Walters.
