Creativity awaits at the Walters Summer Camp, where art and adventure meet. In a fun, playful environment, students connect with art from around the world as professional educators and artists guide them in bringing their imaginations to life. Each week, campers practice their observational skills, experiment with unique materials to create their own works of art, and collaborate with new friends to prepare a showcase of what they’ve learned.
Fashion Forward (July 20-24)
From chic headdresses to ornate armor, explore wearable art throughout the ages. Campers discover what costumes of the past reveal about the people who wore them and use techniques such as weaving and dying to make their own runway-ready fashions
Full STEAM Ahead (July 27-31)
Dive deep into the worlds of conservation and archaeology to reveal the connections between science and art. Campers learn how materials like pigments and paper are made, then create their own.
The Natural World (August 3-7)
Let nature inspire curiosity. Campers discover the joy of en plein air painting (painting outdoors), how to build with earthen clay, and create art with natural materials.
Art Tales (August 10-14)
Myths, legends, and hidden tales in art and artifacts from around the world inspire campers to share their own stories through art.
