Over the last several months, Baltimore-based artist Krystal Mack of Studio IAO and PalatePALETTE Zine has undertaken a research project into some of the narratives and histories of 1 West Mt. Vernon Place. Her efforts will culminate in a temporary installation and a free program highlighting Sybby Grant, an enslaved cook for the home’s initial residents. Join the artist for the debut of her temporary installation within the dining room of 1 West Mt. Vernon Place. Mack will be in conversation Dr. Psyche Williams-Forson, an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of American Studies at University of Maryland College Park as well as Cultural Preservationist, Gabrielle Eitienne.
