This eagle pin is adapted from an original pair of fibulae housed in The Walters' collection. The original fibulae, from southwestern Spain in the 6th Century AD, are similar to those found in Visigothic graves in Spain, Ostrogothic graves in northern Italy or Frankish burials in France. Pin is sterling silver and measures approximately 1 inch long and 1/2 inch wide with a military clasp clutch pin back.
