Another of The Walters collections' most popular pieces, Springtime (ca. 1872) by Claude Monet is a beautiful pop of color to add to your home or office! The poster measures 18 x 20 inches including the border.
In the spring of 1872, Monet painted a number of small canvases in his garden at Argenteuil showing his wife, Camille, either alone or with Sisley's companion, Adelaide-Eugeniw Lescouezec. In Springtime, Camille is seated beneath a lilac bush reading a book. This enchanting scene of tranquil domestic life has been tentatively identified as The Reader, a painting included in the second Impressionist Exhibition in 1876.
